1. Who We Are
This website is operated by Joe Asiba, founder of The Mission House, a ministry organisation registered in Kenya. Our contact address is hello@joeasiba.com.
The Shame Reflection tool, the book The Precious Gift, the Study Guide, the 30-Day Journal, and all related digital content are created and owned by Joe Asiba / The Mission House.
2. The Shame Reflection — Important Disclaimer
Please read this section carefully before using the Reflection tool.
The Shame Reflection at joeasiba.com/reflect is a personal, faith-based reflection tool created to accompany the book The Precious Gift. It is designed for personal reflection and spiritual formation only.
The Shame Reflection is not:
- A clinical psychological assessment or diagnostic instrument
- A substitute for professional mental health care, therapy, or counselling
- Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment of any kind
- A validated psychometric tool
Results reflect your self-reported responses and are intended solely for personal reflection. They do not constitute a clinical profile or diagnosis.
If you are experiencing significant emotional distress, depression, anxiety, trauma symptoms, or any mental health concern, please consult a qualified mental health professional or licensed counsellor.

Joe Asiba and The Mission House accept no liability for any decisions made based on the results of the Shame Reflection tool.
3. What Data We Collect
When you complete the Shame Reflection and submit the gate form, we collect:
- Your first name — to personalise your results and email communications
- Your email address — to deliver your reflection results and follow-up letters from Joe
- Your shame reflection pattern (Performance, Identity, Moral, or Layered) — to send you the relevant email sequence
- Your WhatsApp number (optional) — only if you choose to provide it, solely to add you to your chosen WhatsApp Circle community
We do not collect payment information, sensitive personal data, or any data beyond the above through this tool.
4. How We Use Your Data
Your data is used exclusively for:
- Delivering your personal reflection results by email
- Sending a series of follow-up letters from Joe related to your reflection pattern (4 emails over approximately 14 days)
- Inviting you to join the WhatsApp Circle for your pattern, if you provided your number
- Sending our weekly Quiet Letter (newsletter) — you may unsubscribe at any time
- Notifying you about the Kickstarter campaign (April 1, 2026) and book launch (May 9, 2026)
We will never sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.
5. WhatsApp Numbers
If you provide your WhatsApp number during the Reflection, it will only be used to add you to the WhatsApp Circle community matching your shame pattern. It will not be used for any other purpose and will not be shared with any third party.
WhatsApp Circles are small community groups moderated by Joe Asiba's team. They are not broadcast lists. You can leave at any time.
6. Email Communications
By submitting your email through the Shame Reflection, you consent to receiving:
- Your reflection results (immediate, one email)
- A personal letter sequence from Joe related to your pattern (4 emails)
- Occasional updates about The Precious Gift, the Kickstarter, and related resources
Every email contains an unsubscribe link. You may opt out at any time with no consequence. We use MailerLite to manage our email list. MailerLite's privacy policy is available at mailerlite.com/legal/privacy-policy.
7. Data Storage and Security
Your subscriber data is stored securely within MailerLite's platform, which is GDPR-compliant. We do not store your email or personal data on our own servers beyond what is required for the website to function.
We take reasonable precautions to protect your data, including HTTPS encryption on all pages of this site.
8. Your Rights — Kenya Data Protection Act 2019
Under the Kenya Data Protection Act 2019, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct any inaccurate data
- Delete your data from our systems
- Object to processing of your data
- Withdraw consent at any time

9. GDPR — European and International Visitors
If you are accessing this site from the European Union or European Economic Area, you have additional rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Our legal basis for processing your data is your explicit consent, given when you submit the Reflection gate form.

This site uses Google Analytics (GA4) to understand how visitors use the site. This involves the use of cookies. No personally identifiable information is collected through analytics. You may opt out of Google Analytics tracking by installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies beyond Google Analytics.

All content on this website — including the Shame Reflection questions, scoring methodology, written content, email sequences, graphics, and The Precious Gift text — is the intellectual property of Joe Asiba / The Mission House.
